To mark Outremont’s 150th anniversary, Laurier West is hosting major festivities along two sections between De l’Épée and Durocher avenues. Outdoor entertainment for the whole family, activities, concerts, and a fashion show are all on the agenda for a dazzling weekend on the avenue.
Headlining the event are Martha Wainwright, Cabaça, Bruning BRASs Band, and several surprise guests.
La Grande fête du 150e is an event presented by the borough of Outremont in partnership with the SDC Laurier Ouest and the Festival Grandes Oreilles. It is the highlight of the rich Outremont 150 cultural program, which runs throughout the year and has many more free activities in store for you.
As part of the 150th anniversary celebrations, we are delighted to present a parade featuring the colors of the avenue, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 13. Nearly 60 outfits will be showcased outdoors, under the emblems of two tableaux representing the expertise and quality unique to Laurier O. We are delighted to be collaborating once again with Manika Gaudet of Manik Fashion, artistic director of the Laurier en couture tableau, which will be presented at 6 p.m.; and for the first time with M.A.D. Collectif, which will present the Défile ton Montréal tableau at 7 p.m.
A high-flying fashion show promising evening wear, ready-to-wear looks, and couture dresses that reflect the avenue’s grand cachet, brought to life by Manika Gaudet’s vision.
