A major international sporting event is coming to Montreal! From September 20th to 27th, 2026, experience the excitement of the UCI Road World Championships on Laurier Avenue West, with shops open, activities and a trade fair.
From 20 to 27 September 2026, Montreal will buzz to the rhythm of the UCI Road World Championships, an international sporting event that will bring together the world's best cyclists.
Located in immediate proximity to the routes, Laurier Avenue West will be at the heart of the excitement. Shops, restaurants and terraces will remain accessible and several initiatives will be put in place to make the most of this exceptional week.
Despite the major activities surrounding the Championships, every effort will be made to facilitate access to the avenue and its businesses.
From 19 to 27 September, street cleaning will, in particular, be suspended on certain cross streets to preserve as many parking spaces as possible during the races.
Free parking spaces with a maximum duration of 45 minutes will also be reserved for customers near Laurier Avenue West, notably on Querbes and de l’Épée, in addition to spaces identified 'Shop Local Parking'.
Local access will be maintained where possible and signage will be installed at strategic intersections to facilitate movement in the area.

From September 25 to 27, Laurier Ouest will celebrate the arrival of the Championships with a street fair on the avenue.
During these three days, participating businesses may extend their opening hours and offer various activities in front of their premises. Music on the terraces, outdoor activities, outdoor cooking where permitted, and other initiatives can help contribute to the neighbourhood's atmosphere.
The perfect opportunity to come cheer on the cyclists, then extend your visit by exploring the shops, restaurants, cafés and terraces of Laurier Ouest.
The Laurier Ouest BIA will also be present in the grandstand area, in front of the Outremont Town Hall, with a booth created in partnership with Dieu du Ciel!
An ideal place to stop during the competitions and enjoy the atmosphere that will bring the neighborhood to life.
You can also spot the colors of the Championships directly on the avenue thanks to the UCI vinyls installed in the windows of several Laurier Ouest businesses.
Laurier Ouest will also take part in Tourisme Montréal's Passeport MTL, a great way for visitors to discover Montreal businesses and attractions during their stay.
